Remove my photos

If your face appears in ARGUS search results and you want it gone, you can have it removed. Here is what actually happens, so you can pick the right route.

Two different things can be removed

• The page itself. ARGUS does not host the pages it links to. If a website is publishing your photo without permission, the site operator — or the platform hosting it — is who can take it down. Removing the page is the only fix that removes the photo from the internet.
• The index entry. Separately, we can have your face removed from the index ARGUS searches. Once de-indexed, no ARGUS search will surface it, even though the underlying page may still exist.

How to have your face de-indexed

Email removals@argus.id with:

• a clear photo of your face, so we can identify which entries are yours;
• proof that the face is yours — a photo holding a handwritten note with today's date and the word "ARGUS" is enough. This is what stops other people removing your photos, or you removing theirs;
• any links you already know about, if you have them.

We action removal requests within 5 working days and confirm by email when your face has been de-indexed. There is no charge, and you do not need to have used ARGUS.

If a page is using your photo unlawfully

• Contact the site operator or its host with a takedown notice. If you own the copyright in the photograph, a DMCA notice is usually the fastest route.
• On social platforms, use the platform's impersonation or non-consensual imagery report — those are handled faster than generic reports.
• If the image is intimate and was shared without your consent, StopNCII.org can help get it blocked across participating platforms without you having to send the image to anyone.

Removing your own searches from ARGUS

Thirty days after a search, the face you searched with and every result it returned are destroyed automatically. A stub is kept — the date, the plan and how many matches came back — so your own history does not silently empty itself; it holds no face and no links. Our privacy page sets this out in full.
