What ARGUS is

ARGUS is a reverse image search tool that compares a face you upload against an index of publicly available images. It returns similarity scores and the web pages where similar faces appear. It does not identify people, and a match is not a statement that two photographs show the same person.

Permitted use

By using ARGUS you agree that you will only search for a face when you:

• are searching for your own face, or
• have the subject's consent, or
• have another lawful basis — verifying an online identity you are personally dealing with, investigating suspected fraud against you, or exercising a legal right.

Prohibited use

You may not use ARGUS to:

• stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate or dox any person;
• make decisions about employment, tenancy, credit, insurance or eligibility for any benefit — ARGUS is not a consumer reporting agency and its output is not a consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
• build a database or profile of individuals, or resell results;
• identify participants in a protest, a place of worship, or a medical facility;
• circumvent, scrape or automate access to the service.

We terminate access for any account or visitor we believe is doing any of the above, without refund.

Accuracy

Scores describe visual similarity, not identity. A high score can be wrong. Results are provided as leads to be verified, and you are solely responsible for anything you do on the basis of them.

Payments and refunds

Purchases are one-time and grant access to the results of a specific search for 30 days. Because a search consumes paid third-party capacity the moment it runs, we do not refund a completed search simply because the results were not what you hoped. If the service failed — no results were delivered, or access did not unlock after a successful payment — contact us and we will refund in full.

Liability

ARGUS is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding thirty days.
